Background
Cambridge Museum of Technology exists to preserve and exhibit material that is relevant to the Cambridge area, either by its use or its invention. Cambridge Museum of Technology's purpose is to promote and enhance appreciation of the role of science and technology and its impact on the environment. Its audience is the general public with particular emphasis on school children.

10-Year Vision
1. The museum will be centred on its current site (additional satellite sites might be appropriate if opportunities arise).
2. The collection will encompass the full range of science and technology (including bioscience).
3. The museum will be open at least 5 days per week on average, maybe less in winter and more in the summer - heating the pumping station building is a practical issue.
4. The steam machinery will operate on at least two days each week.
5. The volunteer input will be supported by at least two permanent staff members.
6. There will be at least 1000m of new space for both display and learning
7. There will be at least 30,000 visitors a year .
8. Capital projects aside, the museum will cover its full operating costs, including normal repairs and maintenance.
