Adopt an object for yourself or as a unique gift for any occasion!

Cambridge Museum of Technology is undergoing a major transformation. It includes repairing the historic boiler system to run the steam engines, creating new displays on local industries and technology, and improving visitor facilities and disabled access. Many of our small objects will go on public display for the first time. This redevelopment project is mostly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, but we still need to fundraise the final portion. Adopting an object will help us meet our target and make the Museum the best it can possibly be!

What you'll get

All adopters will receive a certificate, their name in our online gallery (optional), and digital postcards updating them on any conservation, movement, and display of the object. Exclusive adopters will also receive an invitation to our grand re-opening.

How it works

Further details

Adoptions are available on a first come first served basis. Adoptions last throughout the redevelopment period and for 6 months after the redeveloped Museum has reopened (in 2019). Adopting an object does not mean you own the item or have any rights over it or images of it. If you would like to adopt an object not listed above, or have any other questions, please get in touch.
