On Monday June 6th. at 7.30 p.m. we welcome the return of the Shuttleworth Vintage Aeroplane Society (SVAS) based at the Old Warden Aerodrome near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire. Debbie Land will be reviewing the Edwardian and First World War aeroplanes held in the Shuttleworth Collection and flown from the Aerodrome when the weather is more clement! The development of the "Stick & String" Edwardians’ into the advanced Military Biplanes of the day will be amply demonstrated. The photo. is that of one such biplane, the Sopwith “Camel". Why “Camel”? All will become clear in the course of the lecture.

The event is run by Cambridge Industrial Archaeology Group and will take place in the the Pye Building. Free to members of CIAG and £3 for others - pay at door.
