Events 2010
Cambridge University Museums Summer Trail 2010 During its normal open days, the Cambridge Museum of Technology is taking part in the Cambridge University Museums Summer Trail 2010. The trail encourages families to visit local museums and answer a question about a special object in each location. CMT's object is an eagle which lives in the Print Shop. The trail can be picked up at the CMT or any of the other participating museums. If you visit at least five museums and answer the questions correctly you will be able to claim your very own bag of museum treasure! |
August
August Bank Holiday Steaming Once again we take advantage of a Bank Holiday weekend to fire up the boiler. On 29th August we'll be celebrating 40 years of the museum trust. We'll be in steam but there are a few extras. Visitors will be able to meet some costumed interpretors, who will be on hand to talk about the pumping station and Cambridge in the early 1900s. There will also be a brand new display about the history of the museum. At 3pm the mayor is arriving to open the newly restored winch engine house and ash railway. There will be a party for museum members including a BBQ starting at 7.30pm. |
October
Model Railway Show Model trains of all scales in action on a variety of layouts. |
October Steaming The museum comes to life again as the boiler is stoked up and a number of the steam engines are run. |
