Cambridge Museum of Technology hosted artists Ruth Hawkins and Carl West for the weekends of 2-3 and 9-10 July as part of Cambridge Open Studios. A selection of exhibits are featured below.

Ruth Hawkins

“Geometric forms dominate my work. My deliberate construction of rigid, regular shapes is reminscent of our urban environments. Viewers interpret my regular, angular blocks of color as objects from their own environments: whether it's buildings, rows of desks, escalators, filing cabinets or tunnels... my work is ... a combination of ordered construction and unruly abandon: an experiments to explore how order and chaos or spontaneity and rationality can interact on the same canvas: a confusing landscape, which represents my spatial trap."
