2026 Chesterton Festival:
FEATURING free LOCAL-heritage walks LED by VOLUNTEERS OF Cambridge Museum of Technology | CAMBRIDGE INDUSTRIAL ARCHAEOLOGY GROUP | CHESTERTON LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY

  • Free guided walks of Chesterton by local experts

  • ~30-minute walks depart from Festival information hub at regular intervals throughout the Chesterton Festival Fun Day (check information hub for exact departure times)

Volunteers of Cambridge Museum of Technology, Cambridge Industrial Archaeology Group) and Chesterton Local History Society will be offering 30-minute guided-heritage walks during the 2026 Chesterton Festival. Explore Chesterton’s heritage – from the medieval Chesterton Tower, to Pye's development of radio, television, radar and and mobile communications.

The step-free route will follow pavements and dedicated pedestrian paths from Chesterton Recreation Ground (via Church Street / St Andrew's Road) across the Equiano bridge to the River Cam.
