After huge amounts of planning and preparation, construction has begun! Old buildings and portacabins are being torn down to make way for our new cafe, shop, and flexible exhibitions and learning space. Work has also started on our heritage boiler so that we can run our steam pumping engines again.
After an excellent end to 2017 when we secured extra funding and appointed contractors, we have started 2018 with further preparations for our building and boiler work.
Cambridge Museum of Technology has been lucky enough to welcome the actor and writer Robert Lloyd Parry to do six thrilling, charming and at times chilling readings of some time honoured tales over the course of this year.
Cambridge Museum of Technology are proud to be involved in the 2018 Year of Engineering. We will be putting on a project every month aimed at involving and inspiring students in an area of engineering!
We're ending the year on a high note as we have obtained important extra funding and appointed our building and boiler contractors. We are almost ready for construction!
