On stage (and down a mine!): museum volunteers present industrial-heritage research in Kiruna, Sweden
Cambridge Museum of Technology volunteers presented research at The International Committee for Conservation of Industrial Heritage 2025 conference in Kiruna, Sweden (25-30 August 2025).
Kieran Gleave, Cambridge Museum of Technology volunteer
Kieran Gleave, PhD candidate at Cambridge University, presented Beyond Industrial Heritage: exploring community identities through the everyday legacies of industry, which included a summary of research undertaken in Cambridge and Manchester.
Gordon Davies produced a video-essay: Industrial Architecture as Cinematic Stage, an extract of work-in-progress research previewed at Cambridge Industrial Archaeology Group (CIAG)
TICCIH, celebrating its 50th anniversary, hosted several hundred researchers and practitioners from around the world at the event. Highlights included trips to the local iron-ore mines and Saami communities:
