First held in 1992, the annual Chariots of Fire Relay Race took place again on 20th September. The race was inspired by the film Chariots of Fire which is based on the Harold Abrahams’ qualification for the 1924 Olympics whilst studying at the University of Cambridge.
This year, over 50 teams of 6 and one team of 2 took part. The and the race was won by the team of 2 in 49 minutes and 56 seconds.
Alas the team from CMT was not quite as quick as the two boys. We finished in 1hr 31m 31 sec, an improvement on the previous year. The team of Sarah, Martyn, Alex, Hannah, Stephen and Andy, got round without much drama. Sarah (a last-minute stand-in for Chris in last year's team) gave us a great start, and it was all downhill from there.
